Destination: Ca Foscari University of Venice, Italy.

Amount awarded: $8,333.

Program: Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

鈥淭hanks to the Global Skills and Opportunity funding I was able to take a trip to the beautiful city of Bologna in Italy for the weekend and visit some of my family and friends. Originally, I was coming to Italy with just enough money to live but now I can indulge in the beauty of this wonderful country. I could not be more thankful!鈥

Destination: National Taiwan University.

Amount awarded: $8,333.

Program: Honours Bachelor of Arts in Ethics and Political Philosophy.

鈥淚 had very big plans for this exchange, as I wanted to explore much of the natural environment of this country and learn the traditions and culture of the Taiwanese people. The Global Skills Opportunity Scholarship has enabled me to achieve that and so much more. The GSO scholarship makes it possible for me to participate in excursions via the university, allowing me to explore Taiwan with other local and international students. Although I鈥檝e only been here for a short time, every day has been an educational journey and I don鈥檛 doubt the rest of the trip will be a blast.鈥

Global Skills Opportunity 鈥 Short Program

Summer 2023 鈥 Indigenous Programme

Through the Global Skills Opportunity program Canada, Lakehead University and the University of Ottawa has organized a short-term opportunity for Indigenous students during the Summer term 2023 to Aotearoa, New Zealand via the University of Waikato. The purpose of this short program was to have students learn from other Indigenous cultures and participate in knowledge-sharing and land-based learning, for a two-week duration.

Global Skills Opportunity is funded by the Government of Canada鈥檚 Outbound Student Mobility Pilot Program.

Destination: TheUniversity of Waikato, New Zealand.

Fee coverage: Program fee (included accommodation and 2 meals per day), International flight (approximately :$7,500).

Program: Civil Law, Faculty of Law.

鈥樷橧t was a life-changing experience for me. I saw a completely different way of approaching indigenous issues. What I saw was pride and uniqueness. It gave me a lot of hope for what we are capable of doing in Canada. This motivated me to learn more about my roots and my own culture and to work harder to give back to my community and all indigenous peoples. I now know for sure that I can create change, and I will. In addition, I was able to observe different cross-cultural points of view, but also with my colleagues who come from different backgrounds. I feel much more ready to face the future obstacles that will present me during my professional journey. Finally, this trip was an extremely good opportunity to develop my independence and my social skills.鈥欌

Erasmus +

Erasmus+ is a program created by the European Union (EU) to promote education, training, youth and sport in Europe. One objective is to promote co-operation with partner countries such as Canada.

The University of Ottawa has been selected by several European partners to participate in Erasmus +, allowing our students, staff and professors to receive funding for mobility stays at these partners.

Funding varies according to the length of the stay, the host country and the distance between Canada and the host country, among other factors.

The scholarship covers travel costs as well as costs incurred during the stay. For example, a student who completes a mobility stay of five months in Spain could receive 800 EUR x five months + 820 EUR towards their flight, totaling 4,800 EUR.

Each year, funding granted to 新加坡时时彩 exchange students may change. The section below will be updated with the Erasmus + destinations available for the 2025鈥2026 academic year around October of this year.
