Sloan Research Fellowships
These fellowships recognize and reward outstanding early career faculty who have the potential to revolutionize their fields of study. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry, computer science, earth system science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, or a related field; must be tenure-track, though untenured by the deadline and carry a regular teaching obligation. The Guggenheim Fellowship
This fellowship is aimed at mid-career researchers who have accumulated publications, exhibitions, and achievements. Sony Research Award Program
The Sony Research Award Program provides funding for cutting-edge academic research and helps build a collaborative relationship between faculty and Sony researchers. With awards up to $150,000 USD* per year for each accepted proposal, both the Faculty Innovation Award and Focused Research Award create new opportunities for university faculties and research institutions to engage in pioneering research that could drive new technologies, industries and the future. Patricia Price Browne Prize in Biomedical Ethics
This prize recognizes the importance of ethics in confronting the critical biomedical issues of the day. The ideal candidate would have made an outstanding contribution through active service in medical ethics by serving on appropriate committees or commissions, or by improving the profession鈥檚 effectiveness in upholding its ethical standards through advocacy of policies, provision or organization of services. They would be recognized as a role model for addressing ethical issues, be involved in research and medical care and would also be innovative, creative and committed to fundamentally addressing ethical issues in health care. The award carries a $10,000 monetary prize.

Global Young Academy 鈥 Call for New Members
The award recognizes independent early-career scholars in any research-based discpline who combine the highest level of research excellence with a demonstrated passion for delivering impact. Applicants should be in the early to middle years of their independent careers; i.e., between 3-10 years from PhD and aged 30-40; applicants falling outside these ranges are still invited to send their applications with a justification for why they should be considered.

American Diabetes Association Awards
These awards honour individuals in the diabetes scientific and medical community who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and who have made significant research contributions and outstanding career achievements in the areas of behavioral medicine and psychology, podiatry, pregnancy and reproductive health, and macrovascular complications of diabetes. There are numerous award categories, including several National Scientific and Health Care Achievement Awards and ADA Professional Membership Awards.

Douglas R. Colton Medal for Research Excellence
CMC Microsystems recognizes excellence in Canadian micro-nano research by Canada鈥檚 National Design Network through its annual Douglas R. Colton award. This award includes a medal and a monetary prize of $4,500. Faculty, students or alumni who have successfully completed a Master鈥檚 or PhD degree in a Canadian university within the previous three calendar years are eligible for this award. Each institution can nominate only one candidate, thus the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation, holds an internal selection process.

Robert Koch Prizes
- . This is one of the most prestigious scientific awards in the Federal Republic of Germany. The prize is awarded annually to researchers for outstanding and internationally recognized scientific achievements. The prize includes 120,000 euros.

Dr. A.H. Heineken Prize for Medicine
The Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Medicine recognises pioneering work in medicine and is awarded to a researcher whose achievements have led or are expected to lead to an important application in medical practice. The prize consists of 200,000 US Dollars and a trophy; it is funded by the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation. The prize was established in 1989 and is awarded every two years.
